Smoothie ingredients

THIS MORNING I made a smoothie. It looked gross; almost black, gritty and the kind of bitter that makes you pull your ugly face and shake your head.

Why?

Because I’m rubbish at making smoothies?  No.

Because the smoothie maker malfunctioned? No, only a bad craftsperson blames their tools.

Because the fruit was rotten? Nope.

BECAUSE I DIDN’T PUT THE RIGHT STUFF IN THE SMOOTHIE MAKER.

It’s as simple as simple can be.

What you’re putting in is what you’re getting out. In the smoothie maker: in life.

It’s easy to put all our energy into trying to achieve something we’re convinced will bring us happiness, yet we completely ignore the ingredients it requires to make it successful.

If you focus only on your goal, you forget what you need to support you in achieving it.

What supports you? What do you need to put in?

Good food.

Time.

Healthy drinks / water.

Exercise.

Yoga.

Relaxation / creative time.

Motivational, educational books.

Inspiring films, relaxing films.

Good people who believe in you or challenge you to RISE.

Motivational audio or music.

If you’re filling your mind with low-vibe stuff, spending your time with people who are stuck in their ways or terrified to grow you’ll be spinning your wheels, or worse, experiencing a slow and painful puncture.

A few weeks ago someone knocked on my front door and said there was a suspected gas leak. We had to close our windows.

How about you do the same now? Rein in what you expose yourself to.

Make conscious, smart choices around your time, your diet, your activities and your people.  You’ll know the people who drag you down because they’re full of fear, angst, drama and constantly conjuring problems or criticising other people.

I used to work as a radio reporter and newsreader. I was exposed to bad news and negativity all the time. Now I don’t even watch it. Don’t go asking me questions about current affairs to check my state of mind, I probably won’t know the answer!

Stop making yourself SHRINK to fit in.  Change your environment through conscious choice. Create a new environment, one where you can flourish.

If people belittle what you do move on. You don’t need to justify your actions. If you trust and value what they say let that be the basis for an open and honest conversation, not because you want to win and be proven right, but because it helps you gain clarity on the type of alternative thinking that’s out there.

Be proud. Stand tall. Strong back, soft front.

Don’t try to be more than you are, forget being something you’re not – step into what you can be and own it.

If you want more good things in your life – put more good things into your body and mind and celebrate each milestone. Consistently move forwards, because with the right actions you will.

If you’d welcome professional support to make changes in your life drop me a line. It’s my mission as a confidence coach to help you create the life you want and feel good about who you are.  Why wait?

Love you,

Sophia xx
